ABOUT BELMONT

Situated a stone’s throw from Bristol, Belmont is a redefined and reimagined country estate on a mission to regenerate land, reverse biodiversity loss and reconnect communities to nature and each other.

Who we are

At Belmont, environmental restoration, sustainable food production and the reconnection of people to nature, food and one another underpin all that we do.

It’s this ethos that led to the development of our regenerative farm, ground-breaking rewilding and rewetting project and our free nature-based education program, which are all delivered with the crucial support of corporate partnerships and offsetting projects that benefit both people and the planet.

Purpose

To restore nature and reconnect people.

We’re reconnecting people and businesses with our planet to protect it.
This is our mission and core belief.
The power of connection to change minds and messages.
Letting nature lead the way.

Vision

Our vision is a regenerative and reconnected world where planet and people thrive together, and it’s this hope that drives us.

To tackle the climate and biodiversity crises, we urgently need nature restoration at scale. As custodians of the land, we believe we can be a facilitator of that change, bringing communities and businesses together to reconnect with nature and inspire them to help safeguard our natural world.

History of Belmont

Over the last three centuries, Belmont has been more than a home. Its history is a story of restoration and reconnection from the families who have walked the land to the relationships that have blossomed.

OUR VALUES

Regeneration, Restoration and Reconnection. These themes underpin all that we do, driving our investment in our community programmes and conservation projects.

REGENERATION

Replenishing and reviving our landscapes is central to our mission. Restored ecosystems like peatlands, forests and floodplains will help sequester carbon, regenerate soil health and improve biodiversity across the UK.

RESTORATION

By turning our back on modern methods and letting nature thrive, we’re dedicated to bringing about social, environmental and ecological restoration on a local and national scale.

RECONNECTION

Connecting communities with nature and each other is at the heart of what we do. Because, the closer people are to understanding nature, the more they will help to protect it.

RESTORATION PROJECTS

Restoring, preserving and redefining the many historic, cultural and environmental assets of Belmont has been a dedicated passion for the family and wider team for the past decade.

Estate Driveway

Previously covered by moss and grass, the driveway was resurfaced and outlined by Norwegian maple trees to create an atmospheric entrance to the estate.

Wildflower Banks

Replacing many of our once regularly mown verges and lawns with native wildflowers not only looks beautiful, but it has been great for biodiversity and reduced the use of machinery too.
